Native New Yorker, Thais, began her culinary career at her mom’s restaurant in New Jersey. After realizing that the kitchen was her home, she went on to study Pastry Arts at the French Culinary Institute (now called the International Culinary Center) in NYC.
Thais landed a job at Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink in Miami as Pastry cook where she trained under renowned and celebrity Pastry Chef Hedy Goldsmith and James Beard Award Winning Michael Schwartz. She was quickly promoted to Pastry Chef and chosen to be a part of the opening team for Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink in Grand Cayman Islands.
After this, Thais travelled through Europe before moving to the Grand Cayman Marriott Resort. Thais joins us from JW Marriott El Convento Cusco where she was overseeing both front and back of house F&B operations.
